This morning that darn groundhog saw its shadow. Living in Wisconsin, I cannot say I am overly excited by the promise of six more weeks of winter. On the up side, cold winter days are the perfect excuse to cuddle up with the good book! This Groundhog’s Day I will be cuddling up with my littles to read them a new story by author, Ann Marie Pace. You may already be familiar with this author. In fact, we featured her book, Vampirina Ballerina, here at The Children’s Nook last year. Vampirina Ballerina is still a hit in our home. Therefore, I am excited to introduce my kids to Pace’s new book GroundHug Day! While we are more than ready for Spring to arrive, Groundhug Day is a great way to enjoy the final weeks of winter!
Groundhug Day is a heartwarming story about friendship and the illustrations featuring the animals and party plans are adorable. In Groundhug Day, your little readers will find Moose planning a Valentine’s Day party for all of his furry friends. Everyone is excited except Groundhog! Groundhog is worried because if he sees his shadow on Groundhog’s Day he will be asleep for another six weeks of winter…..and would miss the party. Don’t worry about Groundhog. He has great friends and they have a plan!
>Groundhug Day is available for purchase online in hardcover format as well as a digital copy. This story is not just about Groundhog’s Day. However, I must say I love having a children’s book that features this particular day! Groundhug Day actually celebrates friendship while also touching on several different holidays. This book is a fun and sweet story that you and your little ones will enjoy during these dreaded extra weeks of winter!
I received a copy of this book for review purposes. All opinions are mine alone.
