A couple of years ago I found some adorable little mailboxes at the Target dollar spot. I brought one for each of my boys, and a third in hopes someday another baby would come along:) Are any of you guilty of buying extra in case you have more kids or grandkids someday or am I just crazy!? Since Declan was just a baby at the time, Aidan had fun decorating both of their mailboxes with stickers. The boys each have their own labels with their names on them, so I just stuck one of those on the side of each of their mailboxes. This makes it easy for mommy to deliver their Valentine every day!
With this fun little activity of personalizing their mailboxes, began a fun tradition that is highly anticipated in this household. Aidan seriously woke up an hour earlier than usual this morning just because he was so excited to see what arrived in his mailbox! I have to admit that I look forward to this as well. It is a really cheap way to add some excitement into these cold winter days. Every year we start a countdown to Valentine’s Day the week before the 14th of February. That gives my little ones a week of fun surprises. Each morning they wake up to find a fun little Valentine’s themed surprise in their mailboxes. These are usually very simple surprises and then I give them something a little bigger on Valentine’s Day. You may have guessed by now that I shop Target quite a bit, so I love to hit up their Valentine’s Day clearance every year after the holiday is over and stock up on some fun things for the kids mailboxes for next year. You can find stickers, pencils, erasers, bouncy balls, and other small items for super cheap after the holiday is over. When February rolls around again the following year, all I need to buy is some sweet treats and I am set for our week of fun!
Do you give your kids or grandkids a valentine? Don’t you love seeing their excitement over such a little gift? I would also love to hear where you find fun valentine gifts and ideas for your little sweethearts!

What a nice idea. I do this at Christmas with the advent calendar. I bought a build your own monkey mailbox at a target last year at half off and will make it this weekend with my daughter. Think I will go buy a few fun things to put in it! Thanks!
Those mailboxes are adorable! I plan on making my grandsons Valentine’s Day cupcakes!
