I thought it only appropriate to end this summer with a big splash and introduce you all to the cute children’s book, Pig Kahuna. This is the perfect book to take to the beach. You can take a break in the shade and read this story with your kids and then have your own little adventure searching for treasures on shore with your kids.

Pig Kahuna is a fun-loving story about two brothers having a fun adventure at the beach. Fergus and his little brother Dink were spending a day at the beach collecting whatever “treasures” would wash up on shore. Jennifer Sattler does a great job of making me fall in love with these characters. Fergus and Dink are delighted when they find the biggest treasure of all……a surf board.

Pig Kahuna is a cute story that also teaches kids to be brave and try new things. The main character Fergus thinks water is icky. He enjoys the beach, but he will not go into the water. When one of his newly found treasures floats out into the water, Fergus swims out to rescue it. He quickly learns that the water is not icky and has a lot of fun riding his first wave!

The illustrations are super cute and colorful. If my toddler leaves his copy of Pig Kahuna alone, my baby boy is fast in pursuit. I think he enjoys the illustrations as well!
